Where to apply for a Passport in the UK
Eligibility to lodge by post
If you are applying to renew an Adult Passport which was issued after 20.8.1986 and with an original validity of 2 years or more, the application must be lodged by post to the London office.
Renewing a Child Passport, one parent or person with parental responsibility for the child must lodge in person. The child is not required to attend the interview.
We do not offer a collection service.
Passports must be posted back to your UK residential address.
All correspondence to the Passport Office must include your daytime telephone number.
If you require the priority processing service, please write 'Priority Processing Service' on the front of your envelope.

If you have a question regarding your Australian Passport please call 020 7887 5816 between the hours of 0900 - 1200, Monday - Friday.
The London office will be closed on UK public holidays and on certain Australian public holidays.
Edinburgh
The Australian Consulate in Edinburgh will be closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2, 3 and 4 March.

Please note the last interview on each day will take place 15 minutes before closing time.
Completed applications can be lodged in person at the Edinburgh office but they do not accept postal applications as these must be sent to the London office.
The Edinburgh office is closed on all Scottish public holidays.The Edinburgh office does not operate an appointment system.
