Australian Federal Election 2013
The Australian Federal Election will be held in Australia on Saturday, 7 September 2013.
Australians listed on the current electoral roll are eligible to vote whilst overseas.
To check whether you are enrolled to vote, please visit the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) website at www.aec.gov.au/check or telephone the AEC on +61 2 6271 4411.
The Australian High Commission cannot answer queries on entitlement to vote or on enrolment procedures.
The easiest way to cast a vote is in person at Australia House. If you’re unable to get to Australia House to vote in person, you can apply immediately for a postal vote.
Voters may download a postal vote application and fax it to the High Commission on 020 7887 5579 or mail to Election Section, Australia House, Strand, London WC2B 4LA. Postal vote applications can also be obtained by calling the High Commission on 020 7887 5570 between 10am and 4pm.
Once a completed application is processed, ballot papers will be posted to your nominated, overseas address.
It is important that you apply early for a postal vote to ensure there is ample time to deliver the ballot papers and for you to complete them by election day.
Postal vote applications will close at 5pm on Thursday 5th September 2013.
