ANZAC DAY 2015 - London
Saturday 25 April 2015
5.00am: Dawn Service, Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner
The service will last approximately 60 minutes. Tickets are not required, however you will need to show photographic identification and undergo security checks on entry. The site will open at 2.30am and we suggest you arrive early (no later than 4.00am) as attendance is expected to be much higher than usual. Please note if you are unable to gain entry to Hyde Park Corner before the service starts then you may be denied entry.
There will only be one entry point for the public, it is just off Apsley Way on the Hyde Park Corner side of Wellington Arch and much of the surrounding pedestrian subway system will be closed. Please allow extra time for security screening if you have small (backpack sized) bags. Large bags, sharp instruments, and glass containers will not be permitted on site.
11.00am: Wreath Laying Ceremony and Parade, The Cenotaph, Whitehall
The service will start at 11am and has been organised by the UK Government. There are public viewing areas and space for wheelchair users. For further details please refer to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport’s website below:
1.00pm: Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving, Westminster Abbey
Please note that all tickets to attend the Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey have been allocated. There was an extremely high level of interest in tickets for the service due to the significant nature of the 2015 being the Centenary year.
All tickets are individually named and strictly non-transferable. On the day ticket holders MUST carry the photographic ID they used when making their application for tickets. If ticket holders fail to bring this photographic ID they will not be allowed entry.
All guests will be subject to a search regime on arrival. Please allow plenty of time to clear security before being seated for the service. Please check your planned travel route as there will be extensive road closures in place on the day. It is recommended to arrive via the St James/Victoria direction and not via Westminster tube station. Doors will open at 11.30am, and we recommend arrival from 11.00am onwards.
The service will conclude at approximately 2pm.
