PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION CAREFULLY.
New passport application forms will be introduced on 1 July 2008. Old forms can continue to be used until 30 September 2008 but after this date only new forms will be accepted by the Australian Passport Office. Adult Australians in possession of a valid Australian passport or a passport that has expired less than 12 months ago are encouraged to use the streamlined renewal process. Follow the instructions on this website or telephone 020 7887 5816 to obtain a preprinted renewal form. The only supporting documentation required to lodge a renewal form is the passport being replaced, new photographs and payment authorisation. If you do not qualify for the streamlined renewal process, the new full passport application form will require the applicant to provide the original of either their full Australian birth certificate or Australian citizenship certificate in support of their application. With the exception of the renewal process, a previous Australian passport cannot be used as proof of citizenship with the new passport application forms.
